    Shoreside combined/intermodal transport

As a terminal at Europe’s largest railway port, EUROKOMBI has extensive cargo potential pretty much “by default”.

Since 2002, EUROGATE and KOMBIVERKEHR have been operating the publicly accessible transhipment facility for combined freight transport at Köhlfleetdamm in the direct vicinity of the container terminal.

The terminal was designed in such a way that it can be used not only for handling Containers. The technical facilities are also available for handling swap bodies and semi-Trailers.

In 2002, EUROKOMBI initially started with a transhipment facility with 5 tracks and 4 loading cranes, and quickly reached ist capacity Limit in 2005. Cnstruction of a 6th loading track only provided relief for a short time, so that the planning for Module 2 began with the handling of the one millionth Container in 2006.
