Reliable loading and unloading times at the terminals are essemtial for Rail traffic to and from Hamburg.
For this reason, the Slot procedure was introduced at EUROKOMBI in 2008
Each loading track is divided into Slots of 4 - 6 hours each. The procsssing times of the Slots depend on the registered Train lengths and planned handling quantities. Between two Slots, a time puffer of 60 minutes is additionally calculated for the processed Train to depart and the next Train to arrive.
This results in a handling capacity of 3 (module 3) and 4 (module 1) Trains per day and track.
Extrapolated to 11 tracks, EUROKOMBI can offer a total of 40 Slots spread over the day.
