Efficient Processes. Reliable Operations.
Truck Handling
Since April 2018, creating a tour plan has been a mandatory requirement for the delivery and pickup of loading units at the EUROKOMBI terminal – in line with the practice established at the EUROGATE and HHLA terminals since 2017.
The following information is primarily intended for forwarding companies and drivers who are delivering or collecting loading units at EUROKOMBI for the first time or only occasionally.
Our tour plan informs the terminal when and which loading units a driver intends to deliver or collect. The terminal then checks the information provided – for example, whether the container is ready for pickup – and assigns an available time slot.
Even if this time slot cannot be met exactly (e.g., due to traffic delays), it remains valid for two hours beyond the booked time, providing a total of three hours to complete the tour handling process.
Tour plans have been implemented in Hamburg for over 20 years using the TR02 message format developed by DAKOSY. Today, more than ten software providers offer solutions for integrating this process into dispatch systems.
DAKOSY also provides a simple, free interface for entering TR02 tour plans – here you’ll find a short user guide:
For processing at EUROKOMBI, setting the “KLV” indicator (Combined Transport) is mandatory.
Depending on the software used, this can be done via a dedicated field or by selecting “ onward transport by rail.”
Only when this indicator is set will all relevant rail-specific fields be activated (e.g. shipping line, destination terminal).
Once the KLV indicator is set, the booking number becomes the KLV booking number.
This mandatory field is not validated or resolved as it is at the seaport terminals; it serves purely as a reference and must be supplemented with details on the shipping line and destination terminal.
EUROKOMBI uses its own set of shipping line codes, primarily assigned to rail operators (e.g. Transfracht, Metrans).
When delivering containers from seaport terminals for onward rail transport, the container must be assigned to the stock of the respective rail operator.
Note:
Internal “600-series” shipping line codes from forwarding orders must be converted in advance according to the official EUROKOMBI shipping line code list.
→ Shipping line codes EKOM
Empty containers must always be registered as normal deliveries, not as depot entries.
Exceptions: EUROKOMBI maintains a depot inventory only for the shipping lines “ONE” (formerly K-Line) and “MTLL” (Martin Tolksdorf Leere).
The indication of a destination terminal is mandatory for every truck delivery.
It refers to the next rail terminal after EUROKOMBI (e.g. DEFFO = Frankfurt/Oder, PLKUT = Kutno), not to the final destination of the shipment.
This information is essential for internal routing and accurate yard allocation within the terminal.
An incorrect destination terminal may cause delays in rail loading operations.

Weighing
Since July 1, 2016, under the SOLAS Convention (International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea), a Verified Gross Mass (VGM) is mandatory for all containers transported by sea.
Because it is not always possible to determine the exact container weight in rail transport – for example, due to missing weighing facilities at the sender’s site or during rail transport – EUROKOMBI offers VGM-compliant weighing directly at the terminal.
Requirements for Container Weighing
Weighing can only be performed if the following conditions are met:
- The weighing is directly related to a rail loading or unloading process (the container must still be en route to EUROKOMBI).
- The order and cost approval must be submitted to the rail office at least 2 hours before train dispatch.
- Only orders from rail operators will be accepted.
- The weighing result will be sent as a weighing note by email to the address provided in the order.
- The current price list can be found here: Terms of Use
Special Case: Weighing During Truck Delivery or Pickup
Containers delivered by truck exclusively for weighing can also be weighed at EUROKOMBI under the following conditions:
- Prior registration by email using the cost approval form.
- No depot storage: the container is weighed directly from the truck and not taken into inventory.
- Cost for truck weighing: €59.50 (cash payment at the terminal is not possible).
