On Monday, the modernized berth 5/6 at EUROGATE Container Terminal Hamburg (CTH) was officially commissioned with the handling of the CMA CGM Palais Royal. All six new Liebherr container gantry cranes were in use for the more than 7,500 moves by this afternoon.
The modernization of berth 5/6 goes hand in hand with a precisely adapted terminal layout and the introduction of new and optimized processes such as multi-track operation to increase productivity.
The new bridges have a boom length of 65.7m and a lifting height of 54m below the spreader. This makes them perfect for handling the largest container ships with 24 rows on deck.
The shipping company CMA CGM, as a member of Ocean Alliance, calls at CTH with FAL 1 connecting Asia to Europe.
